SJ came to Skinovations to after already being introduced to DMK at the Chelsea Skin Clinic in Perth and wanted to continue her journey at a Melbourne DMK specialist. We discussed a number of paths, and decided together that the depigmentaion peel would provide the best outcome for her. As Rebecca's skin health wasn't at its best, we started our journey by strengthening the skins foundation to ensure that Rebecca would get the best results from her treatment and her downtime would be minimised. The following photos are a mixture of Bec's and ours in clinic.
Thanks to our lovely client Bec for sharing her story to assist others in making a decision in their own skin revision journey.
Every skin is different and we are currently at 4 weeks post depigmentation peel out of a 3 month skin journey. Enjoy!
Before photos - Prior to treatment
End of day 1
"Right before I took the mask off. It was quite dry by this stage and starting to crumble around my mouth. Worst thing about it was not being able to blow my nose for 10 hours haha!"
"Straight after I took the treatment off on Thursday evening. Bathroom light made it look very red. Wasn't sore or inflamed or hot. Just looked gross."
Skinovations Edit: Application of the mask was in the morning, with removal later that evening.
"Very red and a bit swollen. Was swollen all day. Skin feels quite tight and inflamed but not dry. Still went out to the supermarket like this and for a long walk along the beach. Only a few strange looks but I had a hat on to hide myself."
"This morning. Starting to peel now, yay!! Skin is verrrrry tight and feels really dry. Can't open my mouth fully to eat and laughing is really sore. Think it's still a bit inflamed too. Peeling seems to be moving quite quickly as it started with just a small amount on the left of my mouth now it's moving across my chin and up to nose."
"Was just taking some pics to update everyone but I've left it a bit late and there's no natural light! Here's one anyway in average bathroom light. End of day 4. Swelling and redness are reducing. Skin is dry all over and cracking/peeling. Forehead has just started this afternoon. Cheek skin is yet to show any sign of coming off! No visible improvements at this stage of the large area on my forehead but I think I see some improvement around my eyes :)"
"Just did a pre photo comparison with my skin this morning. Definitely starting to see a difference now - especially around eyes. Large piece on forehead is starting to breakdown now too. I think a lot peeled off last night :) :) :)"
Skinovations Edit: Skin is pink due to the inflammation from the treatment. This will subside daily with the healing. What we are looking for here is how the pigmentation is lifting up.
"Thanks guys. I'm really happy with results so far (even though I'm scowling in the photo from this morning :) :) :)"
Skinovations Edit: Inflammation is subsiding a lot faster now and skin is looking great overall. Still some peeling around the mouth. *We have been supporting Bec's skin with clinical LED treatments (Near Infrared) every second day to assist with the inflammation post treatment.
Day 10 - click to enlarge photos below
"Skins feeling quite good now - still dry and "crumbly" around my nose and mouth but I can feel it improving each day."
Skinovations Edit: Some pigmentation has gone completely and the inflammation from the peel (redness) is subsiding to allow an easier view at the true result. The larger bit on the forehead is considerably lighter and continues to break down and her overall skin health shows a much more glowy skin! Over time her skin will only improve as Bec is on a skin supporting and revising skincare prescription to assist with further lightening and brightening.
"Here's a photo from this morning. Forehead pigmentation is starting to lighten a lot now"
Still 2 months to go - please check back for progress!
